A mechanical watch is a watch that uses a non-electric/electronic mechanism to measure the passage of time.  They are driven by a spring which must be wound periodically, and releases the energy to activate the balance wheel, which oscillates back and forth thanks to the balance spring at a constant rate, transmitting the impulse through the lever escapement to the gear train, that divide the impulse into hours, minutes and seconds, thus making 'ticking' sound when operating.  Mechanical watches evolved in Europe in the 1600s from spring powered clocks, which appeared in the 1400s.

Operating Instructions:
The watch opens by pressing down on the crown knob. Pressing the crown a second time will open the back door. To set the time, pull the crown all the way out (or second indent) to adjust the minute and hour hands to the appropriate time. Push the crown all the way back in to start the movement and begin normal timekeeping.

1. Please peel all films off before wearing. 2. Please keep the watch away from magnet to avoid making the watch stop working. 3. Power by shaking the watch manually. 4. Fully wound, the watch can function for up to 24 hours. 5. If you wear it more than 10 hours per day, extra winding up will not be necessary. 6. This watch runs on kinetic energy and movement is part of what keeps it working.
